Deer Cave and Lang Cave Tour, a Two days one night tour to Mulu National Park.
The journey to Mulu National Park that takes about 20 - 25 minutes from Miri Airport.
1.Depart from Miri Airport by airplane, Fokker 50, at 9.55 morning, weather is nice, calm and refreshed.
2.A river view from airplane Fokker 50, a snake shape river.
3.Formation of river junction for many many years, taken in airplane Fokker 50, if you see this it means you reach Mulu National Park soon. Arrival is ready for the Fokker 50.
4.Mulu airport with nice scenery and you can observe hills, mountains conjugating together, it is magnificent view. Canteen, toilet, all available... Remember to take your baggage. All tour guides will be welcoming you. Most of them english spoken, and some tours prepare for european speakers too, such as germany, dutch...
5.A limestone hill situated by the river bank "Pala", here is the junction of rivers, many resorts built up here. Restaurant foods are nice, river stream sound is enchanting, air is good, location is near to Mulu National park. It takes about 10-20 minutes slow walk from the resort to Mulu National Park. After you have reached the park, you will need to register with the Park Head Quarters. Start from the park head quarters you will have your journey guided to Deer and Lang Cave.
6.At the entrance of Deer Cave, standing on the Bat observatory platform to enjoy the fresh air and huge scenery of the cave outlook. Deer Cave has the largest Door Entrance in the world, thus they call it the world heritage of its magnificent atmosphere. When we describe something with best atmosphere, it is really an amazing thing that could not be solely described by words.
7.The right and left photos are taken in Lang Cave, the formation inside the cave is magnificent, be prepared to take the photo and make sure your camera flash is strong enough to take a far distance view, the above and right photos are taken in near distance. Lang cave is the smallest cave in Mulu National Park tour, it is very near to Deer Cave indeed, normally the guide will bring visitors to Lang Cave before visiting Deer Cave or vice versa.
8.In the way going into the Deer Cave, you will notice a stone shape look alike a human face, if you have a nice camera you might capture the light inside the cave. Deer Cave has many types of inhibitants, such like bat with around 28 species, insects of different types which survive in the dark environment... also along the way you will see a stream with crystal clear water, where the wild yams grows along the stream... The Smoky thing from the cave is not a real smoke, it is bats flying out from the cave to seek for insects and foods. Normally the bats will start its insects hunting in the evening.
This is the stream in the entrance of Deer Cave, after this stream you will smell the guano of the bats dropping on the floor, anyway the path way inside Deer Cave is well built, also the other caves too... You can observe the bats flying out from the cave near to this stream, it is nice spot to take pictures too
